Bedfordshire Bulls is the name for all of the competitive sports teams that represent the University of Bedfordshire, ran by the Students’ Union.
Established in 2012, we have over 40 teams and over 500 students competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues, as well as other national competitions and leagues.
Wanting to join the Bedfordshire Bulls?
Some clubs require you to go through a trial to get onto the team, but most clubs offer opportunities to attend taster sessions during Freshers Week and join regardless of whether you have played before or not. This offers you the chance to give a brand new sport a go before committing to it for the upcoming year. You will find out more for each club by looking on their page, and in Sepetember you can speak to the current members of any club at the Freshers Fayres on Luton and Bedford campuses. Clubs alos have a Twtiter account and Facebook pages which can be found on the club's page, or by speaking to someone in the Students’ Union on your campus.
The 2017/18 season will see the Bulls do battle again against their Midlands rivals across a whole range of sports. There will be plenty of games taking place on Wednesdays and Sundays, so even if you’re not playing, come and support your friends and see the Bulls in action.
Each year, the Bedfordshire Bulls host a range of events from awards evenings to an annual Varsity competition against the University of Hertfordshire in March. There are also several events organised by the clubs themselves, including UV Volleyball or Mixed Netball tournaments.
Bedfordshire Bulls Membership
All sports clubs are run by student committees who are voted on each year to lead the team by the club. When you pay your Club Subscription Fee (Club Subs), this is your investment into the club you are now a part of, and is used to develop the club in whatever way you, your committee and the rest of your teammates think is best:
Before you purchase your Club Subs, you first need to pay for a Sports Membership fee. This payment contributes to the following areas of your sporting life:
