About Us

Enactus is dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. We provide a platform for teams of outstanding university students to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the center of improving their livelihoods. Guided by educators and supported by business leaders, our students take the kind of entrepreneurial approach that empowers people to be a part of their own success. Our work transforms both the lives of the people we serve and in turn, the lives of our students as they develop into more effective, values-driven leaders.
Students from 36 different countries run their own projects, whether it is in their own community or in other deprived parts of the world. The main goal is to empower people and improve their livelihoods (whether that is on a financial, social, environmental and physical aspect) and Enactus' main motto is "Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day; show him how to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime". Instead of giving people what they need immediately, Enactus focuses on empowering people to reach their goals, so they can become independent and use their resources and skills in a sustainable way.
An annual series of Regional and National Competitions provides a forum for teams to showcase the impact of their outreach efforts and to be evaluated by executives serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup to experience excellence in competition, collaboration and celebration.
Enactus Bedfordshire is one of 57 teams that integrates the Enactus UK Programme, which is, in turn, one of a total of 36 country programmes affiliated to the Enactus worldwide network.
Our most established social project has been recognised as one of the best in the country and thus it features in the Enactus UK projects page - read more about it here.
In 2016 National competition the Enactus Bedfordshire team finished in a very good place, locating Bedfordshire in the Top 10 Universities of the country.
The Enactus Bedfordshire team is currently a team of 70 students that work on a variety of streams to achieve a common cause - make the world a better place. Our team has several subteams within it: two different social projects ( plus several other new ideas being pursued), two commercial projects (that bring financial capacity for the team to develop its social projects), an Events & Fundraising Team, a Marketing & PR team and an HR team. Additionally, we also have one individual role responsible for Finance and a Corporate Relations Executive and a Senior Leadership Team that manages all of the functions mentioned before.
To become part of the group of student volunteers of Enactus Bedfordshire is more than regular volunteering - it is volunteering where you are in charge, you have the power, you have the initiative.
Since each and every member of the society is requested to dedicate a minimum of 3 hours per week to the societies' activities, with some of our members deploying up to 15 weekly hours, being part of Enactus Bedfordshire is definitely a unique experience.
